In MATRIARCHS we explore the image of the feminine.
Past, present and future, an arsenal of symbols, myths and rituals that have left their mark on the moving body opens up to the eye.
Between dance and embodiment, tradition and modernity, the ritual is analysed according to its function, according to the power of community.
The gaze has often defined being: The body as a representative and projection screen of ideals - having the power to decide whether it is veiled or unveiled, whether new life is created at all or ends - something that is constantly questioned, but also celebrated, all over the world.
Can we discover resources for the future in the inner ruins of past archetypes? What gestures have we transported into a digital age?
Whether matriarchy is a fact or an image of desire and fear, what is certain is that it has an inherent transformative power.
